Mushrooms?

Where does this Obama is a Muslim thing keep coming from???? That rumor started a year ago and was finally quashed truthfully.

As for citizen of the world, I agree that the good ole USA is threatened in so many ways. Unfortunately, it is GWB whose policies and practices has put us in a poor light with most of the rest of the world, even those countries who used to admire us, now look at us with disdain and mockery. He has whored us shamefully for his own misguided agenda. WMF"s??? What a joke. He convinced our fearless leaders, as a governing body, to go to war based on cartoon renderings, in this day of high high high tech intelligence gathering capabilities. Hell, Kennedy got better intelligence just from satellite photos, or was it the jet (namd??) that scanned the globe 34/7 in those days?

I respect your military, intelligence, and worldly experience and knowledge. However, it IS a new world we are living in, thanks to the internet and related technological communications advances, and an international economy, the likes and scale of which has never existed in history, which forces nations, ours included, to deal with each other in a manner OTHER than military might. We won that battle, now it is time to take on the new uniform and work to win the new battle. When we are interdependent, not dependent for oil from elsewhere to survive, we are left with no option but to either blow each other to smithereens and TAKE what we want (not exactly an American dream), or negotiate and compete in the market to lead the globe, not follow other nations.

I have no problem with McCain as president and had hoped he would be the GOP candidate for a few elections now. I am equally OK with Obama as president. Yes, he has some lack of experience, but he is not for sale in the way GWB has shown us (and much of Congress too). But he brings a fresh approach to the world of politic, as it is no longer a country of politic we deal within.

McCain has made one big faux pas. He picked Palin for his VP. She is very impressive when prepared for public presentation. Unfortunately, when you talk about the bottom of experience, she is at the top of the list. Her idea of global experience is to spend almost her entire life hunkered down in Alaska, remote from most of the world and most of the USA, in spite of being "neighbors" with the East. Great speaking fodder but no substance to stand on. As soon as she is off the cue, and on her feet answering questions and challenges, she flub dubs around searching for a clever answer to root questions about the economy, international tensions and dealings, and yes, family values. Her daughter is knocked up, which should have nothing to do with the campaign, but instead of backing folks out of her family's intimately personal life, she twists the situation around to signify a stand against abortion. I am sure she is thrilled about her daughters pregnancy. Yeh, right.....

And though I have no problem with McCain's age, there is the reality that he is old enough to be vulnerable to health matters that could easily knock him out of ability to perform the duties of office, so she is the back up plan?? We's be better off with Matt Cassel. Even that goof ball Quayle would be better suited. And face it, he was a nincompoop in so many ways. At least he has been working his butt off on the side line, preparing for the task he was inadvertently challenged with.

At least Obama had the sense to pick a seasoned VP candidate who brings a lot of international experience to the team. Sorry but Biden does not scare me at all compared to Palin, and is also less likely to be called into action, but is a capable and willing team player.

So stop with this crappy cheap stuff about Obama. Get some reality, i e facts into your blog, then you may be worthy of my, and many other's ears. We are really listening, not looking for bullshit because it makes us feel better about our options. We have 2 choices, unfortunately. Make the best of it.

If you're so ill-informed and believe that Obama is anything other than a socialist interloper, then, for crissakes, keep the hell out of MY blog. I fully agree!! Moreover, I believe that you should be born with ONE vote and be able to EARN up to five more thru:

1. One extra vote for serving honorably in the military service.
2. One extra vote for community service
3. One extra vote for having lived abroad for two or more years
4. One extra vote for science graduates
5. One last vote for Medal of Honor winners

No convicted felons should be allowed to vote.

Or something like that. Why should the uneducated fallen-down uneducated drunk on the street have the same say-so as any of the above?

Wish I'd added that to my book. Maybe it's not too late for the next printing if the damned thing ever takes off.

Have we noticed……those who support Obama protest too loudly? They do not speak in absolute, or even near, truths. No thought beyond the moment; trying to blame the Republican Party, Bush in particular, for all their ills which were created prior to Bush Sr. holding the same office.

This support of a "black" man, who in fact has far less black "blood" than white, is without merit. The Muslim who attends a church based on black supremacy; demeaning whites, teaching hatred toward the Jewish, while damning this nation? Believing a man who will not release his birth certificate to prove his citizenship? What part of Fannie Mae and Freddy Mac do they not understand? Perhaps they believe ACORN is only a nut!

Where is this nation going when its citizens, lower classes in particular, hold everyone responsible for their plight - other than themselves? All while making no effort to pull themselves up, to become educated, get off welfare, or take pride not only in who they are but what they accomplish. To accept responsibility for their mistakes, errors, poor decisions.

The part that bothers me most would be where people are planning to vote for this man based on his supposedly black status, not on his policies. Most followers of Obama have not a single clue as to his policies - beyond what the slanted media spew. Nothing … beyond the tone of his skin.

Obama is verbally smooth, trained to remain unruffled. But give me a man who becomes angry, one who will yell - when leading this nation against terrorism. Obama would welcome this scourge aboard while McCain would use them to scrub the boards.

The most frightening aspect of most Obama followers is their lack of intellectual content within. A friend planned to vote Democrat because her mother told her they take care of the little people, when she was a teenager. This friend is now 67 and has never used a single thought about voting beyond what she was told half a century ago. These are the people who should not vote.

Simple solution: As it requires passing tests to drive a car, one should have to pass test(s) in order to ‘legally’ vote. Each case is a danger to others when the operator is ignorant of the rules, lack knowledge of the terrain, and have no viable experience.

I agree with Connie! What a great idea to take a test to earn the right to vote. There should be questions about the Constitution on that test, because there are WAY too many voters out there that don't have a clue about what's in it, what it means, or why it was written!

I also believe that there should be a nation wide consistent way of casting a vote, i.e. machines, paper ballots, etc. I also believe that when you vote you should show your identification and verification of residence. Acorn wouldn't be in as much trouble as it is if there were ways to verify that valid citizens get one vote.

Hmmm.... extra votes for various life experiences.

Sort of trashes the idea that all men are equal under God and in the eyes of the Law, doesn't it? What happened to the principles of the Enlightenment that the founders of our country used as the basis of the Constitution? Or English Common Law that goes back 1200 years or so?

Why not just let rich people have extra votes? After all they pay more taxes. Or how about going back to the idea that slaves count only as 3/5 of a person when apportioning representation in Congress, so maybe black people should only have 3/5 of a vote.

You proposal of unequal votes is a great insult to anyone who takes the precepts and philosophies this nation was built on at all seriously.
